HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is day 2 with the “Warrior” schedule. I did this today and I was sweating like crazy. I used the lighter weights for beginner’s since it was my first time doing a HIIT, but instead of 3 pounds, I used 5 pounds. During one of the squats, I was tempted to use ten pounds, but I continued using 5 and now that I am writing this, am I ever glad I only used 5. Even though I stretched with the team and did additional stretching for my legs, my legs are killing me. I’ve never done a workout where my legs were sore immediately after the workout, so I know I’m doing something! The burpees were difficult for me to do as I’ve never done them before and while trying to keep up with the team I noticed my form started to suck. So I slowed down and went at my own pace, though I tried to do as many burpees as the team did, each time Dan said there was an additional four, so I also tried to aim for those additional 4 at my own pace.
It was super intense, I would say that this workout was even more intense than when I did P90X. It sure worked my arms, my legs, my back, and even my abs. I hope I’m not too sore tomorrow to move around as I have to work!
Here’s a preview of what the exercise entails:
